I am way behind but determined to get caught up!
October started with the boys talking me into buying a haunted ginger bread house for them to do. They made a mess and had fun and then ate it within the first 48 hours of October. Huh.
Nate made a few hunting trips and finally settled on the smallest spike he could find.
The last few years Spencer has competed in a kids duathlon, well because of COVID they didn't do it this year and instead did a "build a city" event. He won his age group and got some tickets to the rollerdrome, dinner coupons, and an award!
We also went to the pumpkin patch with the activity days boys from our ward. The kids got to each pick a pumpkin and do the other activities, like the straw maze, climbing the hay bales and feeding the animals.
Nate and I celebrated 8 years of marriage, the time has flown by, but also feels like we've always been together, strange how that happens.
With the library and EVERYTHING shut down we spent a lot of time together inside. The library was working hard to come up with kits/activities you could pick up and take home to do together that were appropriate for a span of ages and also educational. This one was on digestion and they got goldfish crackers and soda to learn with, that was a huge hit!
Spencer played fall soccer. He loves the social aspect of all sports but actually made some great improvements as a player! Plus dad bribes him with a milkshake for any goal he scores...
We celebrated Halloween a handful of times by wearing costumes to school, walking Harrison Boulevard with the Dille's to check out all the fun decorations there, trick or treating at the rec center and at the ward trunk or treat, AND THEN we even took them REAL trick or treating around the neighborhoods close by!
Garrett at 18 months taught himself to ride a scooter, he got really good at the wiggle bikes, and even started using the strider bike, he keeps up with the big kids no problem!
Breda and I also spent a day with our boys at another pumpkin patch where the highlight was watching a trick dog show! But we did the barrel train, walked through the creepy monster belly, and Gar loved the giants bouncy mounds and just let the big kids flop him all over. It was hilarious!
