June

Kade turned 11 months and we made our usual summer stops to the MK Nature Center as well as Fanci Freez where Kade commandeered Nate's entire milkshake, and a trip to Esther Simplot ponds where even though I told the boys to only get wet up to their knees, they ended up soaked. We called the Rice's and they even came over and played in the water with us for a while.

Spencer took swimming lessons at Lakeview and totally caught on! It was awesome to see his progress and my fingers are crossed he doesn't forget how over the winter! He is a fish and loves the water! So we also spent plenty of time at Oma and Opa's pool.

The circus came to the Idaho Center in the middle of June so we took the boys. Spencer enjoyed it but at intermission was playing with Kade and tripped so they both face planted and gave Kade his first bloody teeth/lips/face.

Our friends have a little standup paddle board business and they invited Nate and I to go float Indian Creek with them. We had never been on paddle boards before so it was a learning experience. I fell in the water twice (and I wasn't even standing). Still super fun, plus it's always nice to have a more exciting date than just going out to eat.

We also had a date night to a Hawks baseball game thanks to Codi and Austin! We're sure glad we have such great friends!

At the end of June Spencer got to go on his first overnight without mom or dad. He went to Camp Ameriben (my mom's work) with Oma and Opa and his cousins! He had so much fun and must have stayed up all night because he CRASHED the next day when he got home!

That same weekend Emily and Brannick were driving through and Allison and Dallin were in town! It was a full house for one night but we're always happy to see family! Nate was right in the thick of marathon training and had a 16? 18? or some crazy number of miles to run that morning so he left early to get that out of the way and the rest of us went to check out a lavender festival.

We had a ward campout sometime in June at Grand Jean. It was a cool place I'd never been but the drive was terribly long and windey for the boys. Spencer puked at twice and as we were stopped cleaning it up some friends from the ward drove by... thankfully we took a different rout home and it was much better. Once up there the kids saw some horses and the owners were so nice to take them on a little ride!

And here's just some random pictures from the month

May

Kade is 10 months! Our cute boy got good at walking and loved going for runs in the stroller, eating anything and everything, he is a bottomless pit and yet the tiniest guy being only in the 15th percentile.

May 5, my BFF Jourdan and I ran my 3rd and her 1st half marathon! It was a women's only race and it was so fun! Jourdan, who is way faster than me, had been having knee issues the last few weeks of training and hadn't even been running much. As the race started she was already in pain and started lagging behind by mile 3. I felt bad but I ended up just leaving her thinking she was going to have to stop. I was feeling really good and about mile 7 I looked back and there was Jourdan almost caught up to me! It was so fun to see that she was doing so well and hadn't quit! We ran the next few miles together but about mile 10 I just lost it and so this time Jourdan left me. I ran/walked the last 3 miles which were probably the hardest 3 miles I've ever done. I finished and missed my PR by 28 seconds!! It was a bummer but I was still so happy to have done it! Katie and her crew as well as Nate and the boys were there at the end cheering and that was a fun surprise!

Nate officially started his marathon training in May too. So began the many weeks of him running out to Lake Lowell and back.

I had a great Mother's Day with lots of loves from my 3 guys! Nate and Spencer went on the father and sons campout so Kade and I went to dinner with my friend.

Nate and Spencer went to the Father and Sons campout up at Pinetop.

how cute are all these young boys following Nate up the hill?!

The highlight of May was as the end of the month when Nate had to work in Salt Lake for a week and we got to go with him!

Our first stop was the Ogden Dinosaur Park. We also made a stop at Scheel's to ride the ferris wheel, visited the dinosaur museum and Children's museums at Thanksgiving Point, the best part was that our Discovery Center pass got us into all of them for FREE, going to the zoo, the aquarium, shopping, Spencer got his first professional haircut from my friend Elle, I could go on and on!

Nate's little brother Aaron and his wife and daughter happened to be in the area at the same time so we were lucky enough to meet up with them one afternoon and play at the park too! Spencer LOVES his cousins and was so happy run around with Ellie!

During the days while Nate went to his class, me and the boys stayed busy going on runs, shopping, meeting Nate for lunch at City Creek, swimming in the hotel pool, and visiting my friend Melissa from high school!

It was such a fun and busy week! On our way home we stopped to see Nate's grandpa Oren, Spencer's namesake, he is 94 and the sweetest old man! Then we made our way to Pocatello to have lunch with
Uncle Heatie on our way to Rexburg to see Jake and Emily's new baby, Hudson!

In addition to snuggling baby Hudson, we also drove up to Ashton, ID to check out Nate's marathon course and see the infamous Mesa Falls!

These last few are just from May! Playing at the park,Spencer dressing up as a cowboy in the same outfit Heaton wore, and Spencer wearing 6-month shorts because as he said, "thought I had to fart and I pooped!"
